As we discuss alternative energies for automobiles one only has to use their imagination to consider a wind-powered car. Hey would that not be the coolest car you could own? Well recently a gentleman on an online think tank actually considered this and even sent in his idea as a suggestion to General Motors.Challenging the experts Think Tank Thinker, Joseph states; "A challenge for engineers if they can over come many road blocks both political and technical."Now there is a challenge indeed. Now you are talking; "A Wind Powered Car!" Once I myself had actually considered this and my thoughts were to design tube like roads. Consider a tube with big funnels around it. The funnels would open in the direction of the inflowing wind, which would be diverted into the tube. Then the "Venturi Affect" would make the wind flow fast and the cars would be blown down the tube.Behind each car would be a wind generator propeller and the difference between the speed of the car and the wind would move the propeller and charge the batteries. So upon exit of the tunnel they could go to where they needed to go. When you parked you could move the propeller on your car and swivel it into the wind to constantly charge the batteries. The batteries would be the latest and greatest ion-lithium high-tech MIT batteries. There would also be little induction system under the car which picked up the air sandwiched between the car and the road where it was moving faster and bring it up into a series of flat planes or propellers to trickle charge battery as you drove. Abstract indeed, but simply thinking out loud on Joseph's killer idea on the online think tank. We all have great ideas, what is yours? Consider this in 2006.Lance Winslow - Online Think Tank forum board. If you have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives, come think with Lance; www.WorldThinkTank.net/wttbbs/
