When a church puts a banner out announcing that they are holding a revival that usually means one thing. It means the evangelist is coming to fire up the church. It is said that an expert is only a man from out of town with a brief case. Can the church live in this cycle of inactivity followed by forced fire. The answer is an unequivocal no, but even more so as we approach the coming calamities of the ?Last Days.?The movie ?Jesus Camp? was produced largely by democratic and liberal film makers. It was used in part to show how kids are indoctrinated into what is called a subculture offshoot from the conservative movement. The film betrayed its makers in that some of the exuberance and genuineness of the kids is undeniably exciting and creates a picture of kids realizing a potential far beyond the path that pop culture and media now beckons youth to tread. It may frighten some people to see what youth can look like if they were to willfully reject the barrage of media garbage in films, games and music they now endure daily.The film first shown at the ?SilverDocs? festival and released in 2006 is directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady. Critics have tried to place the picture in a category that depicts only a segment of America?s evangelical subculture. It has wiggled far out of that slot because many Americans are quite tired of the worn out cycle of church apathy and forced revivals and are now looking for a genuine move of God?s Holy Spirit in our time?why not youth?In the late fifties and early sixties churches in America were in the deepest lull since before World War Two. With the boys back home again and the new materialism emerging attention was drawn away from the American church like a magnet to the iron. The church seemed to be going the way of all flesh along with the general public. It became a joke among the preachers to say ?on Sunday morning the church gave up her dead.? Enter the Jesus People.The Jesus movement or as some say the Jesus revolution of the sixties crossed all cultural lines. Hippies, durggers, poor, black, white and a thousand other classes were taking part in a return to the simple preaching and living of the gospel. It was proof that God is always calling people and not simply running a wake up service. A few churches like the Calvary Chapel in California decided to open their doors to the new breed of believer regardless of how they were dressed, how they talked or their background. Those churches were blessed and expanded rapidly. Other churches were started by the newcomers in store fronts and new church plants and they witnessed phenomenal growth and showed a flux of power unseen in America in several decades.Following the Jesus movement of the sixties was the charismatic renewal of the seventies and early eighties. Names like Kenneth Hagin, Don Basham, Judson Cornwall, Derek Prince and Bob Mumford became well known to millions of Americans who became more open to the work of the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit. Like all widely accepted movements the charismatic movement lost most of its momentum to its own success. The Catholic charismatic movement bogged down in heavy Mariology, liturgies, ceremonialism and restrictions from the Vatican. The protestant side had the life squeezed out of it by growing formularism and traditionalism. God it seems won?t be painted into a corner. No one can erect a building, sing all the right songs and lay hands on the whole congregation and thus expect the Holy Spirit to jump in and do what he always does. Thousands began thinking that if they offered God the ?sacrifice of praise? they didn?t need to offer much more except to show up in church. What follows is like the metals used in U.S. coinage it keeps going down in intrinsic value. Forget gold coins; forget silver coins, hey, try to find ordinary copper as in a penny?can?t be done.Along comes the cultural church of the nineties and the present. Many books have now been written on how to build a flourishing cultural church. The idea is to go to a neighborhood where the median income is pretty high and plant a church that will draw the race, income level and general demeanor of that area into your church where only success can be expected, taught and amplified in all speech, appearance and endeavor. Unknown to many who are part of this new movement is the fact that even while they are succeeding they may be miserably failing if held up to God?s definition of success. The cultural church of today should take a warning from the most well known cultural church of yesterday. In the book of Revelation Jesus addresses that church with a scathing rebuke?Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: Revelation 3:17 KJV So what?s next? I share the belief with many today that what is next will shake the very foundations of the church as we have always known it. It is not a hidden or obscure idea but it is a promise made by God and it will come on the strength of his purpose and nothing more. It is found and outlined in the following verses of scripture.And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Joel 2: 28-32 KJVMen women and children will begin to speak and preach with more authority and power than any mere evangelist. Children and young people will willingly reject the media onslaught that is leveled at them daily and will share their faith with others in a way that will make the movie ?Jesus Camp? look contrived. Older people will begin seeing visions and sights that heretofore were only thought to happen among the ?saints? of the past and powerful biblical characters. It is God?s last thrust so it will be his best.By now some reading this article will view this as a very extreme view and an altogether unlikely prognostication at best. Hold on there?s more. After the Antichrist appears and begins his rule over the entire earth there is yet to come two more prophet evangelists who break every mold ever found or imagined. They will not only speak and give prophetic utterance all over the world but they will possess power to remove by force anyone who may come against them. See Revelation 11:1f. The final frosting on the cake comes when before the entire world they are slain and their bodies are bemused and ridiculed for days until every person on earth will see them resurrected again and then ascend upward.This will create no small stir and millions will be converted by these events. Those who still scoff at the resurrection of Christ will have one more chance to change their minds about the God who has complete authority over life and death. The next heated revival in the church will be its final and greatest fire not just another guy from out of town with a briefcase trying to waken a sleeping congregation. follow the golden rule: Only contact a reporter if there is
something concrete and news worthy to convey. Most reporters,
work on tight deadlines and wasting their time is unjust.

Just as you learn how to present news, give interviews, or
prepare press releases, it is essential to know when. Here are a
few points to keep in mind:

Never contact a reporter if: * What you want reported is mere
hearsay or you don't have concrete facts. Never be instrumental
in spreading rumours. Reporting is serious business and
spreading gossip is not its mainstay.

* The media is caught up in a media blitz--political turmoil,
war, a deluge, natural calamities, and so on. When there is
breaking news in progress, everyday stories become unimportant
and irrelevant. So, pause a moment and desist.

* You have a "media release" but aren't sure when all the plans
will fall into place. Never take the last step unless you have
accurate, concise, and clear information.

* You don't have adequate time for an in depth interview. Give
your self enough time to prepare and enough time for the
reporter to interview you--to be complete and rounded, any
interview allow for the facts to be grasped and the picture
drawn clearly.

* The news you have is not ethical but sensational news.
Remember, you must pay to a person's right to privacy,
confidentiality, and protection from harm and retribution. This
is especially true where children are concerned.

* The laws of a nation or intellectual property rights protect
the news you want published.

* The relevance of the story is limited to a small circle or
community.

* The story is of a personal nature that isn't important to the
public at large.

* The "facts" of your story can't be proven -- a story you just
have a gist of is not newsworthy.

* Never submit inappropriate material to the media
/reporters--you will develop a negative reputation and your
material will be thrown away as soon as a reporter receives it.
You need to establish yourself as a person that can be trusted
to give accurate, concise, and newsworthy stories.

* Your thoughts aren't sorted out --- the who, what, where,
when, why, and how of the story you wish to report is unknown or
hazy.

* Your media release isn't final--if you send one on Monday and
another with changes/corrections on Tuesday, your credibility
will be shot.

* The long term/short term publicity goals aren't in place.

* Press materials aren't fully developed. The press release,
media kit, and other promotional materials must all be finalized
and ready for distribution well before a reporter is contacted.

* You are uncomfortable talking about or discussing a particular
topic---it's better to say nothing than say something you'll
regret later. Once you've spoken to the media/reporter, it will
be hard to retract what you have said.

* You don't want to be "quoted." Unless you have a really good
tip, or information, reporters don't like to go off the record.

* You're not familiar with the background of a "story" or the
sequence of events--personal opinions are not news.

* The story you want told doesn't have an "angle"; it's not
newsy; has no human interest aspect -most people won't be able
to relate to the story; if it's not relevant to current
happenings; it does little to add depth/impact to a popular
story the media is focussing on.

Rethink--is my story NEW, it is concise and clear, short,
sharp, and simple, is it accurate--will it stand scrutiny? If
you can answer "yes" to most of these questions then go right
ahead and contact a reporter.

The grids include one large 9 x 9 grid that houses, nine 3 x 3 smaller grids. The purpose of the game is to place a number from 1-9 in each of the grid cells. You don't have to worry about finding the sum of the numbers of the rows, columns, like in Magic Squares.No addition is involved; however there are three conditions that rely on each other and must be followed. Each number 1-9 can appear only once in each column, once in each row, and once in each small 3 x 3 grid. Mathematically, Sudoku puzzles are a derivation of Latin Squares.The famous mathematician Leonard Euler created Latin Squares. They are a prevalent part of discrete math. Basically, a Latin Square consists of an n x n table filled with numbers, letters, or symbols. Each symbol can only appear exactly once in each row and exactly once in each column. Sudoku puzzles take the Latin Square one step further with the 3 x 3 smaller grid constraints. The fact that you have to make sure that each small 3 x 3 grid contains each number 1-9 only once significantly increases the complexity of the puzzle.Sudoku puzzles come in varying levels of difficulty. Grammar Teaching: Implicit or Explicit?

Based on my 15 years of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teaching experience, the statement "grammar teaching should be implicit, not explicit" could be argued both for and against. Whether to teach grammar as an extracted focus of ELT (English Language Teaching) or more passively as an inductive, integral topic has been the theme of countless debates on the part of institutions, professors, grammarians and language researchers for decades. Grammar is the branch of linguistics dealing with the form and structure of words or morphology, and their interrelation in sentences, called syntax. The study of grammar reveals how language works, an important aspect in both English acquisition and learning.In the early 20th century grammarians like the German-American anthropologist Franz Boas and the Danish linguist Otto Jespersen began to describe languages and Boas' work formed the basis of various types of American descriptive grammar study. Jespersen's work was the fore-runner of such current approaches to linguistic theory such as Noam Chomsky's Transformational Generative Grammar.Chomsky, who studied structural linguistics, sought to analyze the syntax of English in a structural grammar. This led him to view grammar as a theory of language structure rather than a description of actual sentences. His idea of grammar is that it is a device for producing the structure, not of a particular language, but of the ability to produce and understand sentences in any and all languages. Since grammar is the means by which we can understand how a language "works", a definitive study of language grammar is essential to language study.Strictly explicit grammar study however, and even grammar-focused lessons are often not communicatively based. They can therefore be boring, cumbersome and difficult for students to assimilate. The strict teaching of grammar / structure, except with students of the Logical – Mathematical or Verbal – Linguistic multiple intelligences, can be frustrating and highly ineffective.Grammar teaching should be implicitIn the early 20th century, Jespersen, like Boas, thought grammar should be studied by examining living speech rather than by analyzing written documents. By providing grammar in context, in an implicit manner, we can expose students to substantial doses of grammar study without alienating them to the learning of English or other foreign language. I also agree with this implicit approach of teaching grammar. The principal manner in which I accomplish this is by teaching short grammar-based sessions immediately followed by additional function-based lessons in which the new grammar / structure is applied in context.The hypothesis is that adult language students have two distinct ways of developing skills and knowledge in a second language, acquisition and learning. Acquiring a language is "picking it up", i.e., developing ability in a language by using it in natural, communicative situations. Learning language differs in that it is "knowing the rules" and having a conscious knowledge of grammar / structure. Adults acquire language, although usually not as easily or as well as children. Acquisition, however, is the most important means for gaining linguistic skills. A person's first language (L1) is primarily learned in this way. This manner of developing language skills typically employs implicit grammar teaching and learning.Grammar teaching should be explicitThis does not exclude explicit grammar-teaching entirely, however. Some basic features of English language grammar structure are illogical or dissimilar to speakers of other languages and do not readily lend themselves to being well understood, even in context. In cases where features of English grammar are diametrically opposed or in some other way radically different from the manner of expression in the student's L1, explicit teaching may be required.Aspects of English language grammar that may offer exceptional challenge to EFL students include use of word order, determiners (this, that, these, those, a, an, the), prepositions (in, on, at, by, for, from, of), auxiliaries (do, be, have), conjunctions (but, so, however, therefore, though, although), interrogatives, intensifiers (some, any, few, more, too) and distinctions between modal verbs (can, could, would, should, may, might, must). Phrasal verbs also present considerable difficulty to Spanish speakers learning communicative English.Some students also are logical or linguistically-biased thinkers who respond well to structured presentation of new material. Logical-Mathematical and Verbal-Linguistic intelligence learners are prime examples of those that would respond well to explicit grammar teaching in many cases.Based on my English language teaching and on my second and third foreign language learning (L2, L3) experience, an exclusive approach using either implicit or explicit methodologies is not as effective as utilizing one or the other of these approaches as required. Although it is essential to teach elements of language and develop communicative abilities in our students, there is no one best way to introduce and provide practice in them. Young learners have more natural facility in acquisition, while adults may benefit substantially from more "formal" language learning. Learning styles and intelligence strengths are also a significant factor.There are many generally accepted ways of introducing the sounds, structure and vocabulary of English, including colloquial forms of conversation and the four basic communication skills. Grammar provides for "communicative economy". Answer Aggregators - the Rules of the Game

Answer Aggregator is a new
type of Answer Engine. Answer Aggregator provides a systematic
way to collect links to existing on-line resources that can be
used for answering questions and maintains "mapping" of
Questions into Answers.

In order to make the content of a website accessible to Answer
Aggregator, all the webmaster has to do is to list the pages
together with the corresponding Questions in a file called
SYNDICATE.TXT (located in the root directory) and submit the URL
of this SYNDICATE.TXT file to an Answer Aggregator. If found
acceptable, the links listed will be included into the database
which the Answer Aggregator uses to match answers to the
questions people ask.

Another file read by Answer Aggregate's robot is NOMINATE.TXT,
where a webmaster can include the resources he recommends that
are found on other syndicated websites. The NOMINATE.TXT is
rated for appropriateness, quality, and relevance of its
recommendations and the Authority Rank is assigned to it.

Listing a page in SYNDICATE.TXT or NOMINATE.TXT is just a
proposal. An Answer Aggregate may decide to reject any content
for any reason. In particular, the syndicated pages must be
appropriate for all age groups, including children who use the
Question Answer Engines for their school papers and research.

Answer Aggregates may use natuaral language technology in order
to expand the number of supported Questions. Advanced Lingusitic
Technology is the key component of Answer Aggregates, which
enables the expansion of the number of supported Questions. Most
importantly, this task of discerning which Question Templates
are equivalent to each other is doable using current Linguistic
Technology, and there is no need to wait for further progress in
the field.

Houses for sale by owner, also known as "FSBOs," are a unique case in real estate investment. Buying from an uninformed seller who thought he knew enough to handle everything by himself can be frustrating. It can also be very profitable if you are prepared.Why do people try to sell a house on their own? Only one primary reason comes to mind: To save the sales commission. Of course they usually underestimate the cost and complexity of going it alone. They end up frustrated and tired of the process, ready to drop the price and be done with it. Advertising and other costs have already eaten into their imagined extra FSBO profit. Be generous in negotiating any pre-close expenses - as long as you get your price and/or terms.6. Pass over problems and return to them later. Once a seller has invested more time in a negotiation, he'll be more inclined to give you what you want.Professionals will tell you that most houses "for sale by owner" net less than those sold by an agent. It's too late for the seller to recover his money and time spent, however, so he usually just wants to get the thing sold as easily and quickly as possible. Networking in the Nude (And Other Nontraditional Ways to Build Mutually Beneficial Relationships)

Did you know that one of the most common dreams is about being naked at school or in public? For most of us, that's a pretty scary thought! Well, don't worry. "Networking in the Nude" has nothing to do with being naked in public. The point of the title of this article is that you can do effective networking from the comfort of your own home – in your pajamas, your underwear, or even your birthday suit!

Networking can be broadly described as exchanging information with others.

Effective networking involves exchanging useful information that leads to mutually beneficial relationships.

Traditional networking means doing that systematically and with intent: you determine your goal and objectives, plan your activities, take specific actions, and (if you do everything right), you reap the rewards.

Traditional networking also involves meeting people in person.

People who love traditional networking may try to convince you that nothing is more effective than face-to-face communication. In many regards, that's true. It's natural for us to put more trust in people when we can look them in the eyes and see their smile.

That's why traditional networking focuses on face-to-face contact. In a perfect world, that is the most effective way for everyone to build relationships.

But it's not a perfect world. And not everyone is comfortable with in-person networking.

Luckily, there are nontraditional networking activities that can be nearly as effective.

These nontraditional networking activities might appeal to you if:

You don't enjoy talking to strangers or "schmoozing."
Your schedule doesn't allow you to attend networking meetings and events.
You don't want to bother with everything associated with traditional networking, such as: figuring out which events to attend; deciding what to wear; coming up with a clever "elevator speech"; hearing sales pitch after sales pitch from dozens of unskilled networkers interested only in promoting themselves and their business; handing out and collecting business cards; slapping a sticky nametag on your nice clothes; trying to figure out later which (if any) of the people you met are worth following up with.

Addressing all forms of nontraditional networking is beyond the scope of this article. So we'll concentrate on one of the most powerful: virtual networking.

This is the kind of networking you can do in the nude (unless you use a web cam, then it might not be such a good idea). It's done through your computer and the Internet.

Besides not having to deal with people face-to-face, virtual networking allows you to create contact lists and join online communities comprised of people from all over the world. Most of these people you would never meet in any other way.

Your virtual network can grow larger and faster than any form of traditional network.

Other benefits of virtual networking:

You can get to know people without having to meet or exchange contact information. Remaining anonymous, you can visit their websites or blogs, subscribe to their electronic newsletters, read their comments in online forums, etc. If these activities convince you that they are people you'd like to get to know better and perhaps do business with, you can then initiate contact and start to build relationships with them.
Many websites, such as www.Ecademy.com, www.LinkedIn.com, www.Ryze.com and others, are set up specifically to promote virtual networking. They offer simple ways to build contact lists and find people with whom to network, they provide information on effective networking strategies, and so forth.
Managing your list of virtual contacts is easier than organizing a stash of business cards. Many email programs include electronic address books or other contact management features that allow you to store (and quickly retrieve) information about the people in your network.

In other words, virtual networking eliminates the discomfort of meeting strangers and worrying about first impressions; it enables you to network whenever you want, regardless of your location; it makes information exchanges faster and easier; and it allows you to more easily manage of large numbers of contacts.

Virtual networking can be done in many ways:

Participate in virtual networking events such as webinars, teleseminars, and live online chat sessions. As technology improves, the need for in-person training events is disappearing. A great way to get to know the movers and shakers in your industry is to attend their virtual workshops and seminars. Ask questions, make comments, and get noticed (in a good way). After the event, send them a thank-you email with your feedback.
Become a member of online discussion forums that focus on your area of expertise. Most of them allow you to use an alias if you want to remain anonymous. Most of them also allow you to include information in your "signature block" (such as a link to your website) that will enable readers to find out more about you. When joining a forum, be sure to read previous posts before making your own comments or asking questions. Once you're familiar with the forum environment and its members, start participating by offering advice in response to questions. The more valuable your contributions to the discussions, the better. Do NOT sell yourself or your services. Allow people to get to know you, like you, trust you. Then when they have a need for what you offer, they'll seek you out!
Create your own website that offers valuable free content and showcases your expertise, services or products. Encourage interaction with your site visitors by inviting comments in response to a helpful blog or electronic newsletter. Let your personality show, so people will want to get to know you better. Remember, once they know you, like you and trust you, they'll be more inclined to do business with you.

Virtual networking, just like traditional networking, is all about getting people to know you, like you and trust you. It's all about building mutually beneficial relationships. Put other people first, find ways to help, and give whenever you can. Changes take place on the baseball diamond daily. Players get hurt and go on the DL. Players get hurt and continue to play, which can affect their performance. Managers make changes in the field and in the batting order. Managers make changes in the starting rotations.It's essential for the sports bettor to keep up on these changes. The Angels, for instance, have a good offense on paper, but various injuries have taken a bit out of their offensive punch. Garrett Anderson is battling a bad back, for instance, and the offense is third worst in the AL in batting, on base percentage and home runs. If they get healthy this should be a very productive offense, so it's key to keep up with their health situation.The NY Mets have been the early frontrunner in the NL East. The Mets had a decent weekend taking wo out of three from the rival Yankees. However, the starting rotation has taken major hits of late, with rookie Brian Bannister out and they just lost starter Victor Zambrano for the season. Mets fans must be cringing every time Tampa Bay lefty Scott Kazmir has another great game – and he's had a lot of them this season.You may recall two years ago at the trading deadline the Mets sent their best pitching prospect, Kazmir, to the Devil Rays for Zambrano. The trade was widely criticized at the time and it looks even worse now. Think about a rotation of Pedro Martinez, Tom Glavine and Kazmir. Instead, the Mets are desperate to fill out the rotation, especially with the surging Phillies suddenly hot on their heals. Kazmir just allowed four hits and matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts in eight innings, helping the Devil Rays beat the Marlins 3-0 for the young left-hander's fifth straight win. At 22, Kazmir is the youngest major league pitcher to win seven games this early in a season since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981!The Cubs have a terrible offense, still without ace slugger Derek Lee, and notice they are on a 7-1 run under the total. And speaking of weak offense, the NY Yankees are having all kinds of problems. Following the Subway Series loss to the Mets, the Yankees put right-hander Shawn Chacon on the shelf with a bruised left shin. Chacon was slated to start Sunday, but watched Aaron Small face the Mets in the Yanks' 4-3 loss. Small will fill in for Chacon this week. Chacon will join Carl Pavano, Tanyon Sturtze, Octavio Dotel, Gary Sheffield, Hideki Matsui and Bubba Crosby on the DL. The Yankees promoted outfielder Terrance Long from Triple-A Columbus. Joe Torre said Long can expect to play right away. And Yankees catcher Jorge Posada missed his second straight game with back spasms.The Yankees are on an 8-3 run under the total, which isn't a surprise with so much offense hurt. The joke in the NY Post this week was, "How do you get the Yankees out? Put runners in scoring position." Seventeen times the Yankees batted with at least a runner on second against the Mets and just twice they delivered hits.
