Let’s take a look at some important things to consider in keeping your program current.First of all, the best thing you can do is to subscribe to the opt-in mailing list for notification of any updates. You must subscribe as no one will automatically tell you your site is out of date although your administration panel will give that information to you. To opt-in please visit www.phpbb.com to subscribe.Next, when updates are announced you must select between two methods: a “changed files only” update or a “patch” update. If you haven’t made any extra special modifications to your program than the first choice is what you want. Simply download the information to your desktop, unzip the files, and follow the installation instructions on how to update your board. If you have added on some modifications than a “patch” update is for you. If you select the former method you will delete all of your modifications. Thus, only a patch update is what you want in order to keep your modifications in place.So, that’s it. you may receive hundreds of messages a day. It comes
with the territory and unfortunately, there's no escaping
it. Keeping up with your e-mail is very important to your
success online and you should make every attempt to

you spend managing your inbox.1) Folders: Set up folders to better organize your e-mail

Wedding Reception Site Rental Check List

When you book your reception site, be sure that you understand what is and is not included in the rental fee. Each facility is different, so you have to clarify with the manager of the property what can be provided by the venue, and what you must provide. As always, make sure that everything you have agreed upon is put in writing.

Depending on the venue you may need to supply some, if not all the items listed below:

Chairs Ââ€" For a seated dinner or seated buffet you need to provide seating for all reception guests. For a buffet style reception you may able to get away with enough chairs for half or more of the total number of guests. You may need to rent or purchase chair covers separately. High chairs for children should be available from rental companies.

Guest Tables Ââ€" Smaller tables like a 36-inch round will comfortably seat 4-6 guests and be appropriate for a buffet type menu. Larger tables like a 48-inch round will seat 6-8 guests, or a 60-inch round seats 8-10 guests. Regardless of their size, all guest tables are pre-set with flatware, glassware, linen napkins, and coffee cups that work well for a seated dinner.

Cake Table Ââ€" usually a 48-inch round works well, but the appropriate size will depend on the size of your wedding cake. Make sure you include the decorative adds to the cake display like floral or linen accents. Be sure the cake table is located in a highly visible, but low traffic location. You want to show it since it is part of the decor, but keep it out of the high traffic areas to keep it safe.

GroomÂ’s Cake Table Ââ€" If the groomÂ’s cake has not been served during the rehearsal dinner, a 36-inch round will work flawlessly.

Cisco CCNA / CCNP Certification: How And Why To Build An Etherchannel

CCNA and CCNP candidates are well-versed in Spanning-Tree Protocol, and one of the great things about STP is that it works well with little or no additional configuration. There is one situation where STP works against us just a bit while it prevents switching loops, and that is the situation where two switches have multiple physical connections.

You would think that if you have two separate physical connections between two switches, twice as much data could be sent from one switch to the other than if there was only one connection. STP doesn't allow this by default, however in an effort to prevent switching loops from forming, one of the paths will be blocked.

SW1 and SW2 are connected via two separate physical connections, on ports fast0/11 and fast 0/12. As we can see here on SW1, only port 0/11 is actually forwarding traffic. STP has put the other port into blocking mode (BLK).

While STP is helping us by preventing switching loops, STP is also hurting us by preventing us from using a perfectly valid path between SW1 and SW2. We could literally double the bandwidth available between the two switches if we could use that path that is currently being blocked.

The secret to using the currently blocked path is configuring an Etherchannel. An Etherchannel is simply a logical bundling of 2 - 8 physical connections between two Cisco switches.

Configuring an Etherchannel is actually quite simple. Use the command "channel-group 1 mode on" on every port you want to be placed into the Etherchannel. Of course, this must be done on both switches if you configure an Etherchannel on one switch and don't do so on the correct ports on the other switch, the line protocol will go down and stay there.

The beauty of an Etherchannel is that STP sees the Etherchannel as one connection. If any of the physical connections inside the Etherchannel go down, STP does not see this, and STP will not recalculate. While traffic flow between the two switches will obviously be slowed, the delay in transmission caused by an STP recalculation is avoided. An Etherchannel also allows us to use multiple physical connections at one time.

Here's how to put these ports into an Etherchannel:

Before configuring the Etherchannel, we saw individual ports here. Now we see "Po1", which stands for the interface "port-channel1". This is the logical interface created when an Etherchannel is built. We are now using both physical paths between the two switches at one time!

That's one major benefit in action let's see another. Ordinarily, if the single open path between two trunking switches goes down, there is a significant delay while another valid path is opened - close to a minute in some situations. We will now shut down port 0/11 on SW2 and see the effect on the etherchannel.

The Etherchannel did not go down! STP sees the Etherchannel as a single link therefore, as far as STP is concerned, nothing happened.

Building an Etherchannel and knowing how it can benefit your network is an essential skill for CCNA and CCNP success, and it comes in very handy on the job as well. Make sure you are comfortable with building one before taking Cisco's exams!

How To Setup A Freshwater Tropical Fish Tank

This is an 11 step guide to setting up a freshwater aquarium in
your home.

Equipment you will need: Aquarium Aquarium gravel Aquarium
filter Replacement filter media Heater Other decorations (such
as plants) Chemical test kits Fish food Aquarium vacuum Fish net
Glass Scrubber 5-gallon bucket Pasta strainer

STEP 1: Realize the responsibility involved. A tropical fish
tank is just like having a dog or a cat when it comes to the
amount of effort on your part. In order to have a successful
fish tank you will have to work at it. Once a week, or at most
once every two weeks, you will need to perform some kind of
maintenance on the tank. Most of the time you will be performing
water changes. You will also have to feed your tropical fish at
least once a day. If you are up to the challenge, please
proceed!

STEP 2: Decide on an aquarium size. It’s a good idea to have in
mind what kind of tropical fish you want to keep before you
purchase an aquarium. Some tropical fish only grow to be an inch
or two, whereas other types of tropical fish can grow 12 or 13
inches in length! Knowing what kind of tropical fish you want
will help you decide the size of the tank they will need. If
this is your first time with an aquarium, I would recommend
going with a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium for now.

STEP 3: Decide on the aquarium's location. Place your aquarium
in an area where the light and temperature of the tank won’t be
affected by external sources such as windows and heater vents.
You will want to place your aquarium on a stand that will be
able to hold its total weight. A good rule of thumb for
determining the total weight of a full aquarium is 10 pounds per
gallon of water. For example, a 55-gallon tank will weigh
approximately 550 pounds when filled with water!

STEP 4: Buy your aquarium and equipment. Now is the time to
decide on the type of filtration you will want to use. You will
also need to purchase a heater capable of heating the tank size
you have. Buy the gravel, plants, a power strip and other
decorations. A good rule of thumb for the amount of gravel that
you will need is 1 to 1.5 pounds of gravel per gallon of water.

STEP 5: Set up your aquarium and stand. Wash out your tank with
water only! Do not use soap or detergents. Soap residue left
behind will be harmful for your tropical fish. If you are going
to use an under gravel filter (not recommended) now would be the
time to set it up as well.

STEP 6: Wash Gravel, plants and decorations. Be sure to wash the
gravel thoroughly before adding it to your tank. An easy way to
do this is to put some of the rocks in a pasta strainer and wash
them out in your bathtub. Then place the clean gravel in a clean
5-gallon bucket for transport to the aquarium. After adding the
gravel you can place your plants and decorations.

STEP 7: Add water to the aquarium. To avoid messing up your
gravel and plants, you can place a plate or saucer in the middle
of your aquarium and direct the water flow onto the plate. Use
room temperature water when filling. To remove the chlorine and
chloramine, use something like Tetra AquaSafe for Aquariums.
Don’t completely fill up the aquarium until you are sure of the
layout of your decorations. Otherwise, when you place your arm
in to move stuff around water is going to spill over. Doh!

STEP 8: Set up equipment. Install your heater but don’t plug it
in until the thermostat in the heater has adjusted to the water
temperature. This usually takes about 15 minutes or so. Hook up
your filter and any other equipment you have, then top off the
aquarium water to just under the hood lip. Place your hood and
light on the aquarium and then check your power cords to be sure
that they are free of water. I would also recommend using a drip
loop on all of the power cords to be extra cautious. Plug all of
the equipment into a power strip and then “turn on” the
aquarium.

STEP 9. Wait, wait, wait and then wait some more. I know, you
want to add some tropical fish. But, in order to do this right
you must wait until your aquarium has cycled before adding any
fish. There are ways of speeding up this process. Check out the
nitrogen cycle page to learn more. If you must use fish to
cycle, try to get a hardier species like the zebra danio or
cherry barb.

STEP 10. Add tropical fish. Only add one or two fish at a time.
Adding a couple tropical fish at a time gives your filtration
system the time needed to take on the increased biological load
that the new fish introduce. When you bring the fish home let
the bag float in the tank for about 15 minutes so that the fish
can become acclimated to the temperature and pH of the aquarium
water. After 5 minutes of floating the bag you should add some
of the aquarium water to the bag so that the fish can become
acclimated to the pH level in the aquarium. This will help
reduce the amount of stress imposed on the tropical fish.
Stressed tropical fish often leads to dead tropical fish! Don’t
feed your tropical fish on the first day. They probably wouldn’t
eat any food on the first day anyway. Let them get acquainted
with their new home.

STEP 11. Get ready for regular maintenance. Be prepared to spend
some time once every week or two to clean your tank. Performing
regular water changes will reduce the nitrate levels and keep
your tropical fish happy and healthy.

Brief OverviewThe Novell Storage Services (NSS) File System is the default file system for NetWare 6 and later. Its many features and capabilities include visibility, a trustee access control model, multiple simultaneous namespace support, native Unicode, user and directory quotas, rich file attributes, multiple data stream support, event file lists, and a file salvage sub-system. These features can help you effectively manage your shared file storage for any size of organization, scaling management of the system for even the largest of organizations with hundreds of thousands of employees. NSS is a 64-bit file system that can manage a virtually unlimited number of file objects.On each physical storage device, NSS abstracts up to four physical NetWare partitions to make them appear as contiguous free space. NSS recognizes physical and logical devices up to 2 TB in size from which you can create any number of virtual storage resources, called pools. Thinking Outside the Box

Much of my time as a Professional Organizer is spent helping people to put things into containers and boxes. But, success in this business requires as much thinking "outside the box" as it does about putting things into containers. I was reminded of this recently, while consulting with clients who own a large, well-appointed suburban home. Two of the issues that the clients presented were the lack of closet space on the main floor, and the constant clutter on a small, built-in desk. Limited closet space resulted in coats' being deposited in the front entry. Shoes were removed inside the garage and dropped on the floor, by the other door into the house. The homeowners were tired of tripping on shoes. And the last thing they wanted (guests) to see was a wall of coats hanging in the foyer. So, the challenge was clear: This active family needed more closet space.The second problem was the built-in desk. Located adjacent to the kitchen, the desk was an obvious clutter trap. It was probably designed as a bill paying area, or maybe a place for children to do homework. But, the family had a home office, and the children were teens. Over time, this space had become a phone desk, magazine dump, mail dump, clutter repository, etc. So, I asked the client some questions:"Do you use this desk?""A little. For this and that.""Do you need the desk?""No.""Would you miss the desk if it went away?""No.""Are you thinking what I'm thinking?""I'm thinking about ripping out the desk, adding some doors, and turning the space into a closet. Is that what you're thinking?""Exactly."What's the point? The architect designed a built-in desk, the builder built a built-in desk, and the homeowner bought a built-in desk. But, the space wasn't working as a desk. So, we took the same space, and gave it a different name: closet. Same space-different use. Better use of space. More productive use of space. More effective use of space. The ability to make these connections, and visualize new uses is part of thinking out of the box. Sometimes we have to stand back, remove the preconceptions, and let our imagination work. Containers and boxes are important. And sometimes we need to put the containers aside, and think out of the box. Customer Preferences in Online Advertising-Part 2 of 3

In part one of this series, we discussed the fact that <br>studies show information leads over entertainment. We <br>discovered that Web site visitors are primarily looking <br>for information, and therefore, ads should be more <br>information-oriented. <br><br>The second of the three discoveries in the Jupiter <br>Communications (www.jup.com) survey that I will <br>comment on is the discovery that some online advertising <br>is seen as an extreme annoyance. Let's be sure your <br>ads aren't included in that group.<br><br>What They Hate<br>No one likes to be bombarded with advertising. We all <br>see it everywhere we go. It's on television, the radio, <br>billboards, and even grocery story carts for goodness <br>sake. However, online advertising is viewed as the <br>most aggressive.<br><br>Jupiter found that 49% of those surveyed said online <br>advertising was the most intrusive of all. Many were <br>willing to tolerate ads in broadcast or print media, <br>probably due to the fact that they could leave the room, <br>change the station or turn the page. However, online <br>ads hold an extremely negative reputation.<br><br>From my experience, this is most likely due to the fact <br>that online ads often have a "used car dealer" air to them. <br>I have seen many that look like they're all produced from <br>the same template.<br><br>These ads promise the sun, the moon and the stars. <br>They scream about why you simply must buy the product <br>or service. Then, to make it worse, the site captures your <br>email address and you receive hundreds of email <br>advertisements via an autoresponder that apparently has <br>no end.<br><br>The Worst Possible Ads<br>The worst offender is pop-up ads. These are the <br>advertisements that pop onto the screen as you click <br>through a Web site. They advertise specials or offer <br>subscriptions to Ezines, etc. Once thought to be a <br>tremendous sales tool, these ads have become <br>increasingly offensive. <br><br>Sixty-nine percent (69%) of those in the Jupiter survey <br>viewed pop-up ads negatively. Almost 25% found them <br>so annoying they would completely avoid sites that used <br>them. That's a powerful statistic. Can you afford to have <br>25% of your Web site traffic never return simply because <br>you employ pop-up ads?<br><br>What We Can Do To Make It Better<br>So, now that we know what our site visitors hate, how <br>can we adjust our advertising in order to please them <br>(and make them buy)?<br><br>Here are some recommendations to consider when <br>creating your next piece of advertising:<br><br>1.Don't do "anything and everything" to get the <br>buyer's attention. Everyone that comes to your site <br>isn't going to buy. The harder you try to get their <br>attention and force them to read your ad, the harder <br>they will try to escape.<br><br>2.Remember from Part 1 in this series, site <br>visitors are looking for information primarily. Include <br>your ad along with other, useful information. Perhaps <br>you might try offering a free report or article that <br>provides information the visitor can use. At the bottom, <br>insert an advertisement for a product or service you <br>offer that can help them further.<br><br>3.Don't use pop-up ads.<br><br>4.Keep your target audience in mind. Business <br>people aren't going to have the time or inclination to <br>participate in game-type ads. On the other hand, <br>teenagers love them. If your target group is younger <br>people, games might be the thing for you. Naming and Branding Your Business

Have you ever seen what you thought could have been a great business but for some reason it doesn't catch on? What you will learn here is how to avoid:- Frustration

- HeartacheHere you will have the right thought process when giving your business a name that will be remembered. You've heard it a million times. Perception is everything. Regardless of whether it's the truth, perception is what rules the world. So when considering your business name, make sure that the perception of that name is what you intend it to be.The branding of your name and what you want it to stand for is just as important. Make sure that your name is able to be branded not just registered. By that, I mean, that you can operate a business under a registered name but you may not be able to promote or brand that name so be careful.TIP: Get the name right first and the rest will follow.You may have to brainstorm with others and take some time if your business is not easy to explain.Some initial but important tasks are essential in the beginning. As soon as you have some suitable names, check if you are allowed to own them. Is the name available as a registered business name? Are you able to register and buy the domain name? If so, ask yourself these questions:Can I combine what I do with a catchy new word or phrase?
Are there any symbols I can put in the name that come to mind?
Can I use the first letter of the name as a pocket logo to identify my business?TIP: Choose a name that has a meaning or suggestion of what you do.Consider all potential names and narrow them down to a short list of five to 10 names. Use the following checklist to evaluate them one at a time. You must be able to answer yes to all questions for any name to be considered further.1. Is it no more than three words combined?
2. Is each word less than 10 letters?
3. Does it identify what you do?
4. Does the first letter lend itself to a logo?
5. Does it conjure only positive thoughts when it is read?
6. Is it easy to say?
7. Does it sound pleasing to the ear?
8. Does it have an emotional feel?If you have answered yes for any name, the names may be considered further. Once you have a couple of names that you feel are worthy, give them to everyone you know associated with your business. If you haven't started yet give it to others that you don't know and ask their opinion. Be sure to ask them to complete the answers to the 8 questions above.Last but not least, you need a slogan.TIP: Make sure the slogan is catchy and will be remembered.Some great examples of names and slogans are:"Which Bank"

Why learn Spanish of all languages? Why not Italian, French, or even Russian, because it seems to be the most practical language to have these days living in the US. With an ever-expanding Latin American population, being able to speak a language that is becoming so widely used would be an invaluable asset. Schools are even becoming bi-lingual and Spanish is stressed. There are even parts of the country; Miami springs to mind, where there are most likely more people for whom Spanish is their first language than there are people who are native English speakers. Even outside of the states, Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world; the ranking is apparently in dispute as I found numerous statistics. Most Latin American countries, those in Central and South America speak Spanish with an ever increasing amount of people in the United States. That is almost an entire hemisphere full of a language. And then there is Spain as well, while that Spanish may be slightly different than the Spanish in Latin America, Spanish it still is.There are an ever-increasing amount of reasons why people should learn Spanish. Not only because of the amount of people who speak it but in a more selfish way it is becoming increasingly valuable to speak a second language professionally. The problem is that people in the United States tend to be more than a little arrogant in their thought that English is the most important language and they simply don't need to speak anything else.Being bilingual gives one opportunities to live and work outside of the country that would be unavailable otherwise. It gives one options. And given the large amount of counties in which Spanish is spoken it gives one a lot of options. Preparing Your Homeschool Classroom

Once you've made the decision to homeschool your child/ren, you will need to prepare a homeschool classroom. This is important and critical for both you and your child. This will help separate work time and play time. This also gives you space to keep all of your resources organized and to stay focused. First, find your "extra space". The bigger the better! Use an extra bedroom, a den, or a finished basement area. If your lucky enough, and have the land, you can build an outside building for your classroom. Whichever you choose, make it your designated "homeschool classroom". Clear the room out completely, its always easier to start with a blank slate.Next, get your child involved! Why not make it a project with your child? After all, it's their space too. Get a plan drawn out on paper of different areas you might like for your room. A comfortable reading area is always a plus! A nice, large, child size table with child size chairs. Don't forget an area for yourself. A closet is great for resources and supplies. Let's not forget a computer with internet access, computers are excellent resources for homeschooled children. If you have the room, a computer for yourself is always nice. This allows you work time while your child is busy or you can get resources for yourself as needed. You will need plenty of shelving space for resources and materials for both you and your child. A cheap, easy way to do this is at your local building store. Just buy the shelves that are put up on brackets and attached directly to the walls. You can use these shelves for all your storage needs. You can even divide the shelving into sections such as sciene, math, social studies, reading, or whatever you choose. Finally, Decorate Decorate Decorate! There is a reason for bulletin boards and decorations in classroooms. Stimulation! You can decorate as part of your lesson plans and your child should definately be involved. Make a display section for your childs work and achievements to show them how proud you are of all their effort.Do your best to designate an entire room to your homeschooling needs. This will allow your child and you to distinguish between education time and family time in your household. This also allows for less distractions that your house may bring to both you and your child. You can't perform effectively if your thinking about the dishes you need to be doing or if the phone is ringing of the hook. Your child may not be thinking educationally if they see all those toys or other distractions your house may bring.
