Whatever Floats Your Lifeboat

Author : J.E. Gulamhussein
Life isn't about a person's body shape or size. Our bodies are our personal transportation throughout life. Regardless of race, religion, culture or sex, we all are created from flesh and bone even though the packaging may vary we are all human. Even though many of us do, there is no need to compare ourselves to others as we are all in the same lifeboat. Each of us comes equipped with different kinds of paddles and methods of navigation. Our environments that we find ourselves in vary much like the bodies of water vary from one to the next, but the majority of us continue to try to stay afloat. Some will struggle and some will manage effortlessly. Our paddles are our navigational tools for life. Some tools we will be born with while others will be developed from the things we learn. Ask yourself what kind of tools are you investing in to navigate your own lifeboat? Probably you will realize you and others you know use a combination of skills and talents to rely on to get you where you want to go in life. A well rounded, balanced approach is best. For example, if you rely too much on one paddle or life tool to get you where you want to go, such as your outer appearance, chances are you won't row very far. If you loose that one quality, you will have no paddle to fuel the rest of your way. Consider this as motivation and inspiration to develop multiple life tools to help as you row into your life.Regardless if you are gliding through smooth waters or navigating white rushing rapids just remember we all are in the same lifeboat. Instead of seeing what you feel you lack, utilize what you do have and develop other tools that will make your journey through life more enjoyable. Life is a beautiful ride and we are never really alone, even though it might feel that way sometimes. A positive outlook will make a huge difference, just as a negative attitude will cause you to sink. In order to keep your lifeboat afloat, look to others for inspiration and guidance and remember to offer it freely to others. As a practicing soulologist, J.E.
