Some of the most insignificant incidents in life teach us the most valuable lessons. Surprisingly those applicable chapters can be drawn from moments you have never intended to be taught. It could be pleasure trips, a holiday somewhere away from home, a visit to a place you had long wanted to see as much as meeting a stranger, who in a matter of hours can show you real kindness- the kind you have never known your entire life. Our lives, it is true, would be unjustified to be compared to other lifestyles that different races of people follow. Our differences, meaning our food habits, lifestyle, culture etc make all the differences. But that certainly doesn't mean we should never adopt the good values that people of other places follow. If there are any good you see or feel, never ever forget to pick them up. In return, you will only find more goodness. And there's so much price in being good- in doing good, in seeing good, in feeling good, in following good. We wish that everything good will prevail as much as want to meet good people along the way. We are so much familiar to what is good but we do not quite often remember to pursue good. But at the end of the day, a reflective time of good moments only seem to have more value than any other instances that we chance upon. So, it's important to be good, to do good and to feel good.Good people as I have noticed never had more than we have. With the equally blessed niceties of life, they have learnt to choose the road that is not always as smooth but they travel the distance with a goodness of heart. They meet people and make them feel loved, they go through rough moments and handle it with such calmness because they know no matter how tough the ride gets, goodness will see them through. They meet strangers and make them feel at home. They befriend people. They love humanity like their own family. Their kindness touch the lives of all those who come in to their lives. In the song "Hands", Jewel sings "…….in the end, kindness is all that matters". Maybe its true in some way. Kindness has such magic! It could melt people's hearts. You shower it on others and it comes back to you in double measures. On a recent trip to Mussoorie with my sister, I met a couple who were incredibly kind. We stayed at their place for two days and its amazing but true that 48 hours were enough to show me real kindness. They bless people's lives. To have so much and not to boast about, to have traveled around the world and not to pride on it, to have met some of the greatest personalities and not having an air of pride, to have done so much good for countless people and still not expecting to be repaid, to love every fellow being as their own, and being just grateful is indeed marvelous.Whether we are compelled to or taught to, a known fact is that being good will only result in goodness. The 2nd October was simply not declared a holiday. Its because there was once a great good man who lived, sticking to all the good principles, teaching kindness in the simplest ways, led a life of simplicity but pursued good to win the hearts of the entire nation. Today, Mahatma Gandhi's name lives, his memory lingers on, his traces are everywhere because he knew what was good and he practiced it without any fear, knowing goodness will eventually win.Simply put, goodness and kindness will always have wonderful outcomes. The more we learn to abide by these two lovely virtues, the more we will prosper. Riches and wealth does not matter. They will vanish slowly and eventually. But the good that you do today will always leave footprints that can never be erased. Kindness will always reside in the hearts of those you plantIn my twenties ~ that wavy age where times seem hardest, yet very adventurous too. You are not too young niether old. Deciding phases, getting serious kind of phase where Life brings you a lot of tides to ride. But i love every moment of it. I love the lovely times i can count on, even the ugliest of situations. They make me a better person. With dreams in my pocket, seeing them taking buds am gonna do all i can let them take their flight. Someday i hope to see them flowered and be happy enough that for once i did something worth celebrating. And that's gonna be Life. M celebrating every moment of it.
I live in India, in its Capital City. I write for a weekly column for a Newspaper. I love doing it all. I love writing. I love my home town. Its a hilly place. And i wish to make a difference in my life's journey.
